Miklós Fenyö's parents returned to Communist Hungary in the mid sixties - when everyone else was fleeing to the West. Miki's old friends don't know what to make of his outrageous clothes, flawless American accent and collection of original Buddy Holly 45s. His childhood sweetheart is cold and distant while local tough guy Röné is unmoved by the challenger to his rock 'n' roll crown. But that's not all. When the authorities see the effect Miki's gyrating hips and lewd music have on teenage girls, they won't stand for it. His father's job is on the line, and, for the first time, Miki must play by the rules. He has no choice but to enter the local talent show...

The story stars teenager Kornél, who is raised alone by his mother and suffers from asthma, which often prevents him from playing with his friends, and Gyuri, who is the same age as Kornél, but lived in the same house 30 years ago. During the summer holidays, a strange little girl turns up and tells Kornél amazing stories about the house's inhabitants and their mysterious past. Iza inhabits a whole little magical universe in which everything and everyone has wonderful properties and abilities. The boy and the girl embark on a joint investigation to find the former Garaboncias, Kornél's father, who has been kidnapped by the evil Shadow Robbers (Peritons)...

At the end‐of‐year assembly, Tibor and two friends are browsing Lady Sandra’s website on a computer when the school radio announces he’s flunked history, dashing his plans for a Croatian holiday, parties and picking up girls. Instead, he’s sent to his father’s Flamingó Hotel in Balatonfüred to cram for the makeup exam. The once‐Soviet-era resort is barely recognizable, save for familiar faces: childhood friend Józsi, caretaker Tunyogi’s daughter Kata and kind Aunt Rózsi. Just as everything seems hopeless, a mysterious beauty arrives, and Tibor is convinced she is Lady Sandra, the woman of his dreams.
