La prueba
2006
10.0Between 1982 and 2000, the Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso) waged a guerilla war in Peru, becoming one of the most brutal terrorist groups of the 20th century. The conflict began in the Ayacucho region, where many Andean people were victimized and killed. Photographers Vera Lentz, Alejandro Balaguer, and Oscar Medrano managed to capture the horror and pain this war caused—and now, years later, they revisit the subjects and locales captured in their photos. Volver a ver tells a story that is not often told, about the tragedies that took place in Peru for nearly two decades, using the lens of art to reveal memories that question an official history that elides the indigenous contribution to the peace process.

NRSarita Colonia was a humble girl from the Peruvian Andes who dedicated much of her life to the poor of Lima and sacrificed herself for them. She died in 1940 at the age of 24. Over time, her tomb became a place of veneration and pilgrimage because of the miracles she began to perform for the most needy. This documentary not only narrates Sarita's life as told by her siblings, but also explores the cult of this unrecognized saint through the migratory process in which she was involved. Her suffering, deprivation, and attempts to survive in the capital make Sarita a reflection of the lives of thousands of migrants who venerate her today.

NRThe FARC in a single paragraph. More than a historical review of the Colombian guerrilla group, Judith Vélez, director of *La Prueba*, explores the painful legacy of its terrorist attacks. The people suffer the most from its existence; whether complacent or resigned, politicians have already accepted a mutual coexistence with this armed group. Kidnapping and drug trafficking are commonplace in Bogotá today.
