A dramaturg is present during the writing of the screenplay, but does not write the film. A dramaturg is present on set, but does not direct the film. A dramaturg sits in on the editing process, but does not edit the film. A dramaturg is also involved in many other activities throughout a film’s production, yet performs none of them directly. In this sense, the dramaturg is invisible. The same could be said of the life of the distinguished Czechoslovak dramaturg Jan Gogola, who influenced countless stories throughout his career—including this documentary itself. His portrait is, in fact, being dramaturgically shaped in real time as the film unfolds.

Set history free. A modern history, enclosed for more than a quarter of a century in an abandoned prison in Uherské Hradiště with unique rooms preserved from the 1950s. A documentary about the spiritual experience of a girl on Mount Zvir in Slovakia. On the afternoon of August 5, 1990, three children aged 10, 11, and 7—Ivetka, Katka, and her brother Miťko—were playing in a clearing on Mount Zvir, in the Lubovnianska Highlands in northeastern Slovakia. Suddenly, strange sounds began to echo from the surrounding forest, growing closer. The children hid in a nearby hayloft, but the sounds did not stop; on the contrary, they grew closer and closer, without anything being visible. The children's fear intensified. They thought to pray and prayed, "Mary, our Mother, hide us under your cloak..." Suddenly, everything stopped, and the Virgin Mary was sitting on a bench in the hayloft. Both girls saw her.

“I don’t do anything on Sundays”, improvises Petr Král on the winners’ platform of a deserted velodrome. The diary of a grandmother from the Prague neighbourhood of Zbraslav as a diary of eternity. Using informal language, for five years grandmother Alena Němcová from Zbraslav has been writing down weather forecasts, dreams, her morning exercises, cooking, everyday house bustle, global events as well as notes concerning relationships, religion and the general spirit of the times – matters of a private, family, social, real and also surreal nature. The film captures the life in her house as a place that could represent a slice of the world and merge various events and connections, both of a daily and timeless nature. It points out that banality can indeed be part of our perception but not of the world itself. The device is just a change of banality to singularity. This film is part of the "Breathless – Dominance of The Moment" documentary film project.
