Peter Case

Peter Case has lived a life of constant change, soaring highs, and soul-crushing lows. This film walks a million miles in the shoes of one of America’s last great troubadours.

Against all odds, a beloved and historic record store is brought back to life for two eventful weeks. Can a vibrant community re-emerge in today's transformed music world?

A journey into the world of well-traveled singer-songwriters like Peter Case, Mary Gauthier, Chris Smither, Dave Alvin, Slaid Cleaves and many more. The film contains live performances of 40 brilliantly crafted songs, as well as informal moments and interviews in which the artists reflect on audiences, songwriting, the music business, and life.

A retrospective of the music featured in the 1983 film Valley Girl.

A biographical study of seminal punk blues singer Jeffrey Lee Pierce and his band the Gun Club.

Julie, a girl from the valley, meets Randy, a punk from the city. They are from different worlds and find love. Somehow they need to stay together in spite of her trendy, shallow friends.

Somewhere in the American southwest, Taz, a nutty visionary, has temporarily misplaced the wizened dried-out Brainstem he found in a mysterious subterranean world -- which he believes is the key to immortality. Three rebellious punks, Sean, Head and Billy Dork, unknowingly steal it in the course of a convenience store robbery believing it to be a stick of beef jerky. Newlyweds Bruce and Sheila have the misfortune to stumble into the confrontation between Taz and the Punks. The punks kidnap Sheila as a hostage, Taz kidnaps Bruce as his hostage; the bizarre chase is on! The two "teams" race across a landscape of identical convenience stores, housing developments, and rampant consumerism.
