The fraud of officials, the thirst for money and a good life, their immorality is compared with the decency of the intelligentsia, intrigue and fear of losing everything when power changes; comical situations are created, but it seems that you don’t have to believe that something will change, because the office of an official changes decent people too....

This is a story about a young man striving to make a career and money, about his cunning intrigues when he throws honor, friendship and feelings under his feet, using gullible people.

Fragments of the stories were dramatized: R. Bradbury “I Sing About the Mechanical Body” (about the work of an electronic grandmother who, having human qualities, gives tenderness to children deprived of maternal affection) and I. Varshavsky “There are no alarming symptoms” about Professor Clarence, who agrees to an operation that deprives him of human emotions.

A survivor of a Nazi concentration camp returns to his life in Lithuania and attempts to reunite with his former comrades years after the war ended. He struggles to bridge the gap between his horrific memories of the Holocaust and the mundane reality of his modern surroundings. While interacting with his daughter and old friends, he searches for a way to integrate his past trauma into a peaceful present.

The film tells about the life of the Lithuanian landed nobility in the period between the two wars, about the desire to live their old life. But new times dictate new conditions, new values ​​emerge, and loyalty to old ideals is doomed...
