NRQueer March may be over, but the fight for equality continues all year round. In Bandes d’Hystériques, Brussels-based director Kita Bauchet delves into the little-known story of the feminist emancipation movements in 1970s Belgium. Through the radical actions of the Dolle Mina’s in Flanders, the support for the miners’ wives of Marie Mineur in Wallonia, and the groundbreaking International Tribunal for Crimes Against Women (a sort of #MeToo movement forty years ahead of its time), the film sketches a legacy of resistance and tireless creativity.
