Juan Cáceres is a Chilean director, screenwriter and editor who studied at the University of Chile. His films explore urban peripheries through a cinema deeply rooted in place and community, where realism intersects with popular culture and improvisation becomes part of the creative process. His debut feature, Perro Bomba (2019), screened and received awards at more than 40 international film festivals. His second feature, Kaye, was developed at the Cinéfondation Residency of the Cannes Film Festival and received the Work in Progress Award at the Málaga Film Festival, further establishing a body of work committed to portraying the dignity, contradictions and vitality of lives rarely placed at the center of the screen.
