Paolo Genovese

During a dinner, a group of friends decide to share whatever message or phone call they will receive during the evening, with unforeseen consequences.

2049. Emanuela Fanelli is 63 years old and lives alone in a small isolated mountain village in Valle d'Aosta. She doesn't act anymore, she shied away from cameras and has been forgotten by the showbiz. Through a ironic and speculative tone, Peccato interrogates on the reasons of the actress' retreat, by a "what if" narrative that goes back through Fanelli's carreer and the mysterious scandal that caused her downfall.

On a first date in Rome, the inner voices of recently separated Piero and furniture restorer Lara speak aloud, exposing the true thoughts and anxieties hidden behind their conversation.

The story of a loving couple who struggles to keep its relationship alive against the inescapable passing of time, told in a nonlinear way over the course of ten years in their lives.

The fates of an apparently random group of strangers who each come into contact with a mysterious figure who they believe possesses the power to grant any wish, in return for which they must carry out a task he assigns them.

Four married couples find out their marriage is invalid because it was officiated by a fraudulent priest and have to decide what to do next.

A vividly interwoven tale of secrets and connections, Il rumore delle cose nuove centers on three families whose lives have quietly overlapped in the streets of Milan—unaware of each other—for years. Andrea, a photographer, and Andreina, a nurse, share a haunting truth: Andreina has given a part of herself to keep Andrea alive. Umberto finds solace in alleviating others’ pain at work, yet at home he inflicts suffering upon Alba, once hopeful, now dreamless. In another household, Ralph, who crafts sounds, and Viola, an actress who yearns to live as freely as she performs, are quietly struggling—alongside Mirko, a ten‑year‑old whose presence echoes loudly. As the story unfolds, their ordinary routines unravel under the weight of these “noisy” secrets—some seemingly trivial, others utterly unbearable. Chaos tumbles over the fragile bonds holding them together, forcing confrontations with truths they can no longer ignore.
