Welcome to Megalopolis! Once a peaceful Earth city, it's now a haven for criminals aided by the nefarious Alienizer arms dealer, Agent Abrella. Now, it's up to Ban Akaza and the Special Police Dekarangers to protect the Earth from the invading Alienizers and finally bring peace and justice back to the planet.

When a group of archaeologists uncover the tomb of a legendary warrior, they unearth Kuuga’s belt, accidentally releasing an ancient race of monsters called the Grongi, bent on destroying humanity. Enter Yusuke Godai, a modern-day guy next door, who learns he is telepathically linked to the mysterious stone belt. With its power, he transforms into the legendary warrior known as Kuuga, humanity’s only defense against the murderous Grongi monsters.

Based on the true story of racing horse "Haru Urara" ("Gentle Spring"), who lost every single horse race she entered since her 1998 debut.

On January 2nd, Yusuke Godai prepares the Pole Pole cafe for opening, reflecting on the events of the prior year's battles he's had as Kamen Rider Kuuga against the Grongi. This special serves as a clip show and is also referred to as episode 46.5
