Riccardo, Amir, Pietro and Massimo, four security guards, not particularly brilliant or courageous, are bound by an indissoluble friendship. When Amir, who has a large family to support, loses his job, the other three feel called to help him at any cost. Going from a bad idea to an impromptu criminal plan, the four friends will find themselves in a whirlwind of encounters, adventures and pitfalls, but also some surprises. Because our heroes still have more than one trick up their sleeve…

In 2021, an 11-year-old boy named Mattia Piccoli was named Standard-bearer of the Republic by President Sergio Mattarella for "the love and care with which he daily follows his father's illness." This film tells his story and that of his father, Paolo, who, in his early forties, slowly begins to lose pieces of his memory. But just as the world begins to fade, he chooses to stay close to what truly matters, strengthened also by the love of his wife Michela. Together with his son, he embarks on a journey of shared daily life, sudden laughter, and silences that speak.

Back in Genoa for the first time in twenty-five years, to attend the funeral of his best friend from when he was growing up, Luca reunites with the old gang of yore. All of them are sure that the late lamented had brought it on himself, with his dissipated lifestyle. Not Luca: he wants to know, investigate, understand. He searches his memory, in a city as changed as he is, as characters and situations reemerge ghost-like from a buried past, along with Luca’s own true nature, which he thought he had definitively tamed.

A judge decides to dedicate his life to go after the members of the 'Ndrangheta-mafia, when he meets a young heir who longs for a life without criminality.
