While Stephen declares Captain Beefheart an early influence, Gillian confesses her teenage love for a disco classic. During an hour of top tunes, Stephen also reveals the moment he was mistaken for Stevie Wonder, and Gillian recalls how her Dad was a fan of punk. New Order's first concert in the United States. Recorded at the Hurrah nightclub in New York City on September 26, 1981. It took place just four months after former Joy Division vocalist Ian Curtis took his own life, an event that forced the remaining members to change the group's name to "New Order." This performance captures the band's early days under this new identity, without Gillian Gilbert (keyboards/guitar) and prior to the release of their debut album, "Movement".
