Are you afraid of the dark? Have you ever thrown a message in a bottle into the sea? Have you ever climbed down into a well in search of your destiny? In its new program, La Chouette du cinéma returns to present three stories (Matilda, Message in a Bottle, and Dame Saison) about children who spread their wings wide!

A delicious smell of baking wafts through the farmyard. It makes the little red chick want to try his hand at making muffins with the recipe the farmer's wife has given him.

Thumbeline and Fingerita live alone with their mother at the edge of a forest overlooking a village. Thumbeline, a rather sulky teenager, isn’t as helpful as her little sister Fingerita who willingly offers to go and gather firewood in the forest. When her hat falls into an old well, she climbs down to get it and discovers the enchanting world of Old Mother Snow, who makes the snow fall every time she shakes her eiderdown.

A fisherman and his wife live together happily in their humble dwelling. One day, the man finds a tortoise with a golden shell caught in his nets. The tortoise promises the fisherman that all his wishes will come true if he lets her go free. This touching version of a traditional tale illustrates how greed often gets the better of men and women.
