About twenty years ago, Germany got to know Bernd Stromberg and his team from the claims department at CAPITOL Insurance. Back then, there was nothing vegan in the cafeteria, and bullying and sexism were commonplace in the office. Since then, the world of work has changed enormously. But has Bernd Stromberg changed too?

Sunny's mother has died. While waiting for the death certificate, the young woman wanders alone through the hospital's dimly lit palliative care halls. Amid buzzing vending machines and empty benches, she meets Carla. Together, they wait until morning.

Although hostess Brigitte and life-loving schoolgirl Paula only meet in person once, their fates and lives are closely intertwined.

The young, ambitious Eva came to Vienna from Germany to study architecture. At the end of her studies she begins an internship in the office of the influential architect Andreas Hummel. Her everyday life now revolves around designing an art park, and in the process she gets to know the hierarchies of a male-dominated workplace. She observes the dynamics between the architects and gradually becomes part of the subtle power games.

During the course of a single night, various people cross paths in the pubs, bars, and hookah lounges of Cologne. The issues that all of Germany is talking about are put on the table: the patriarchy, the Middle East conflict, rising rents, and whether Jesus would still buy everyone drinks today. Political convictions are stiffened by alcohol, and old wounds are reopened.

Nothing special happens in the quiet, peaceful, and sad German city of Anröchte. Until the day in which its residents’ daily lives are disrupted by strange events: Hun knights armed with sabers perpetrate an arbitrary massacre for no apparent reason, decapitating people at random. Inspector Konka arrives in town to solve the mistery, along with his faithful assistant Walter, a philosopher type who reflects on the human condition as he wanders the melancholic streets of Anröchte.

Sophie and Georg once loved each other, but now they have split up. Almost the entire film takes place in front of the same doorway in Berlin. In an elliptical way, the individual scenes portray a family for whom the word patchwork is the new normal — and take a laconic look at the everyday irrationalities of love.

After a 12-year marriage, Markus and Miriam have split up and share custody for their twins Elias and Emma. To be closer to his children, Markus moves in next door - with his new girlfriend Galina.
