Two Muscovites go on a trip to Karelia and disappear without a trace in an endless, dense forest. Each attempt to get out turns into a new threat. The forest seems to breathe, watch and does not want to let go... Yesterday's Leningrad schoolgirl Masha Yablochkina, after a fierce blockade winter of 1941-1942, comes to the railway courses hoping to survive and gain strength. From there, the girl is sent to the construction of the Shlisselburg highway, which connects the city with the mainland and is in direct sight of German artillery. So the heroine gets into the 48th locomotive column of the special reserve NKPS, which, at the cost of the deadly risk, will have to deliver 75% of all cargo and military equipment to Leningrad.

In the not-so-distant future the computer game industry reaches its fullest flower. Virtual reality is indistinguishable from real life. The government launches Department C to control the game space. Censors secretly delve into games. Their mission is to take sex and violence beyond the forbidden level. A game that would let them do that must be banned. One of the Censors is a good guy who hates his bloody job. The other one is a creep. But even the Censors lose their ability to tell the game from the real world.

The film is about a generation of brave and beautiful people who did not see the destruction of the revolution and the chaos of the civil war, who dreamed of building a new life in which there would be no place for death, but only incredible love that opens the way for them to great achievements and discoveries. After getting fired from the police department, Roman Shilov wants to spend some time in personal affairs. But he gets a call from a wife of Michael Krasnov, who in past provided evidence, which helped to put into jail a dangerous killer. Now Nadya Krasnova tells Shilov that Michael has been kidnapped by unknown persons. Shilov goes to help his old friend and gets nvolved in the criminal events.
