A Japanese pop icon returns to her late mother’s birthplace in a mountain village, joined by a former classmate and her boyfriend. Their trek into the forest turns dark after disturbing ancestral spirits. Trapped in thick fog, fear manifests into inner demons as supernatural events unfold, blurring the line between self-discovery and a descent into madness.

An elementary school in the mountains is to be abolished due to the decreasing population. The PE teacher is assigned to form a choir and to win the national choir contest to solve the crisis. With limited resource and absolutely no music background, the PE teacher and a group of tone-deaf students start to prepare for the contest. The choir and their community eventually find their own voice and identity.

It is often said that those who make films are madmen, and those who watch them are fools. A group of individuals strives for the next box office hit, as the director creates a memorable allegory in a tense yet humorous atmosphere.
