Do we still sing the praises of folly like Erasmus, or is it trendy again to be smart? And if so, who is the smartest? Who can talk about the medals won at the Olympic Games in London, but at the same time knows who Captain Haddock is? Who knows whether Lacan was a hair growth product or a psychoanalyst and can also program their own digital television? Who has déjà vu when leafing through the Encyclopedia Britannica and when reading the interviews with the new Miss Waregem Koerse? Who, oh who, is the smartest person in Flanders, Belgium, Europe, and by extension, the world? That is determined by a fierce battle between three fellow human beings. Every day, someone is eliminated, someone who may not be the smartest, but who is perhaps cherished in their family circle because of their many other talents. The others advance and are joined by a new challenger every day.

Florentina: a charming woman with a lot to offer, but who has never really felt accepted. It doesn't help that she works in her mother's wellness and fitness empire - where a slim figure is always central - but does not meet the classic beauty ideals herself. Her life is turned upside down when her fiancé leaves her and she unexpectedly inherits a secret nightclub. But the latter turns out to be a gift from heaven. She makes new friends, she is surrounded by colorful outsiders who inspire her. She learns to love herself and a new world opens up for her. But can Florentina now also resist the expectations of her mother and the toxic family business? And will she ultimately find true love?

Walter Wilson (Kevin Janssens) and Robin De Rover (Ella-June Henrard) once started their careers in the police force with great dedication and noble ideals, but too often saw months of intensive and dangerous detective work lost due to what they considered irrelevant procedural errors, dexterity of expensive lawyers and dubious decisions of foreign judges. They are increasingly colouring outside the lines during their patrols: for example, they tip criminals off about future police actions and get heavily paid for them. Wilson is also addicted (women, booze, drugs...) and that makes him incalculable. When he is suspended from the police force after repeated conflicts, he looks for even more rapprochement with the criminal environment, but in the meantime is tipsy game.

Behind every woman stands an insecure man. Or so it seems in the comedy series about the Hendrickx family, headed by ex-commissioner Marcel and businesswoman Rita. Their three daughters each lead their own lives, together with their partners. The sons-in-law and son Jeroen form the “Kloefkappers” and discuss their lives weekly at the bowling alley. As long as the men are together, they feel on top of the world and their self-confidence knows no bounds. Then they can handle any problem – or so they think. Once left to their own devices again, however, they quickly transform back into those hesitant creatures desperately trying to keep their heads above water. Fortunately, behind each of our insecure men stands a strong woman who does know how to handle things, and her husband. It is this age-old tension between the sexes that provides the very recognizable humor in Strike.
