Tom and Mae Garvey are a Tennessee farming couple battling violent floods to save their land. In addition to natural disasters, the Garveys fight to stop a selfish land developer and a local corporation from foreclosing on their farm. While Mae stays at home to care for their children and tend to the crops, Tom finds work as a scab at a steel mill to preserve his family's property.

When six friends fly off on a weekend getaway and are suddenly plagued by engine trouble, they're forced to land on a remote island. Looking for shelter, they're grateful to encounter Ma and Pa and their children - an eccentric family living in the island's backwoods. But what begins as simple hospitality turns into a terrifying race for survival as the friends start disappearing one by one ... and turning up dead.

Lindsay Wagner stars as Kate, a mother who learns that her son's teacher, Pete Suvak (Randy Quaid) -- who's also the mayor of their small town -- has been telling his students that the Holocaust didn't exist and that Jews are mounting a worldwide conspiracy. When Kate takes action to have Suvak removed from the school, she's shocked to find that the entire town is behind him. Karen Arthur directs this drama based on a true story.
