The film shows glimpses of the life of a young girl Afeefa living in Kashmir. On the one hand, the film explores the suffocation and trauma experienced by Afeefa in her personal life and, on the other hand, the film evokes the atmosphere of perpetual uncertainty and violence in the milieu. In following the life of Afeefa the film traces her growing understanding of the forces at play in Kashmir.

In Delhi, during Diwali, members of a middle-class family find themselves embroiled in a crime. Searching for a solution forces them to confront both the immediate situation and the truths they have been hiding from one another.

Fusing documentary-realism with magic-realism, and true and fictionalised stories with poetry and dreams, Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon is a love letter to the syncretic culture of Old Delhi, to its history which is slowly losing itself amid concrete and smog
