A burning Godzilla, on the verge of meltdown, emerges to lay siege to Hong Kong. At the same time horrifying new organisms are discovered in Japan. These crustacean-like beings are seemingly born of the Oxygen Destroyer, the weapon that killed the original Godzilla.

Retired university professor Gisuke Watanabe lives a comfortable but secluded life of affluence in the traditional Japanese house built by his grandfather. One day, an anonymous email threatens his peaceful lifestyle.

The film opens as a jury is about to acquit a defendant -- a bar hostess who pushed her ex-husband path of an oncoming truck, supposedly in self-defense. Just as everyone seems to be in agreement over the woman's innocence, one juror voices second thoughts.

When Yura's family moves from Tokyo to the countryside, he enters a Christian school, a religion he knows nothing about. Yura struggles to understand the school structure and student behavior when a miniature Jesus enters his life.
