Philipp Jedicke’s second feature documentary presents itself as a cineast eulogy for the Viennese pop scene as a curious and heterogeneous bunch with an extremely idiosyncratic radiance.

Under the hot Greek sun, animators at an all-inclusive island resort prepare for the busy tourist season. Kalia is the group leader. Paper decorations, glossy costumes and dance shows fill the stage. As summer intensifies and the work pressure builds up, their nights become violent and Kalia's struggle is revealed in the darkness. But when the spotlights turn on again, the show must go on.

Margarita and Güte live in an unhealthy and stagnant environment that they can neither leave nor change. The novel “Fitness” by anarchic poet Stefanie Sargnagel is to be made into a film. The only condition on the part of film funding: Sargnagel should play herself. Surfacing alongside the author are numerous actors from the Viennese cultural landscape in cameo appearances to satirically dissect the Austrian culture industry and its mechanisms.
