How can one get back their memories, if the places they familiar with were all gone suddenly? An experimental short trying to use urban legends to analyze the situation in modern Chinese cities. Pieced together with 35mm film stills, super 8 film roll and digital still images, “darkly negative prints” reflects the massive urbanization movements in the city Hangzhou.

Due to the massive urban modernization movements in Hangzhou city, many constructions considered old were demolished or abandoned. These places were left in corners of this city, "abandoned landscapes" is an ongoing experimental documentary project about these forgotten places in Hangzhou city. "prologue" is a 3D piece, using the leftover 3D materials shot when during my search of such places.

When conducting archaeological research on family video materials from the last century, in order to obtain authorization for a foreigner to shoot a video in my hometown of Hangzhou, I embarked on a journey of searching the internet to find his contact information.

A reel of propaganda film about the Red Army, shot during the Cultural Revolution, faded to red as time went by. Blue paint was smeared on the filmstrip, invaded the original red, and gave birth to this abstract dance of images.

I bought a VHS player to watch my parents’ wedding video. My mother came by and chatted with me as I was rewinding the VHS tape.

My grandmother is suffering from senile dementia and already lost many precious memories. I try to use the methods of structural film to film her and replicate the process of forgetting memories.
