A traveling theatre company comes to a small town and performs to a packed house. But during the show the theatre director decides to run away with the money.

Anderssonskans Kalle is the typical 'Söderkis'. It's a boy growing up on Söder in Stockholm and he is very fond of practical jokes. His mother sees him as a good natured boy but his victims, mostly the local policeman and two old crones in the same house, see him as the devil himself.

When Mark Storm comes to his apartment, he finds a burglar, Kurre. He notices that they have a physical similarity and they change identity, which makes it possible for Storm to make empirical studies in the world of crime.

A young woman is predestined to marry her fathers companion. During the summer she falls in love with an artist. The intended husband detects the love affair and confronts the couple.

The tailor Tosse is ordered to return to his old regiment to practice what he learned many years ago. But he asks his assistant Loffe to go there instead of himself. Everything is fine until Loffe gets the same order - at the same regiment. When Tosse comes to the regiment, it becomes a case of mistaken identity. A comedy in which the noted and rotund Swedish comedian, Edvard Persson, plays the title role (Baldevin), as a waterfront tramp leading his chosen life-style of indolence. A friend urges him to wage a courtship of a rich widow, which he does and manages to get involved in many humorous situations in the process.

Åke is employed as a singer in a revue tour and his uncle Karlsson becomes the tour bus driver.

Jeanne is secretly in love with Dr. Monnier who is secretly in love with Nita, who is secretly having an affair with the great playwright Armand de Marny.

Gösta Berling is a young and attractive minister. Because of his alcoholism and his daring sermons, he is eventually defrocked. He becomes tutor of countess Marta's stepdaughter and they fall in love. But the countess has a plan of her own.
