Is it possible that in a world ruled by appearance, there is room for loyalty, ethics, true love, honesty and solidarity? Is it possible, today, when unrelenting consumption is a way of life, to find someone who equates more value to being rather than having? Cobras & Lagartos is an urban tragic comedy, modern and humanist, that deals with two increasingly different worlds: one which values loyalty and solidarity and the other, where the seduction of superfluity and the power of money reign.

The story takes place in São Paulo, in the late 1920s, and has Mariano's memories as its starting point. Orphaned, he loses the aunt who raised him and ends up in Madame Iara's brothel, where he meets two people who transform his life: Esmeraldo, a gigolo who loves the good life who becomes his master; and the prostitute Guadalupe, known as Lu, a sweet and extremely sensual woman. Esmeraldo is Lu's boyfriend, whom he loves unconditionally. Mariano enters the couple's lives and ends up falling in love with her, thus forming the love triangle that drives the entire narrative.

A tragic accident happened to the car of the President of the Republic, causing the death of one of them, and his former companions, are reunited at the funeral. Nando, one of the surfers, who used to date the widow Zulma, during his youth, knows her 21 years old daughter, Nicole, and begins a torrid romance. Zulma, who is still in love with Nando, is against to their romance. "The Sharks of Copacabana" is a story of friendship and disagreement, of turbulent passions and lost hopes, because the most dangerous surfing waves, are the waves of life.
