Kim Jae-seong

Six months ago the son of the married couple drowned. The couple, together with the teenager that their son saved, begin a journey to cope with the loss.

Young-ja initially mocks the shy, introverted Ki-hoon who is infatuated with her. She in turn, is fascinated with Dong-hyeok, a worldly small time criminal. After promising to change his ways, Dong-hyeok betrays Young-ja and sells her into prostitution. Only Ki-hoon cares enough about her to attempt a rescue.

His mother having died while giving birth to his younger brother, and his father mentally incapacitated due to a serious car accident, 13-year old Yeong-cheol must look after his yoyng siblings. His neighbors, however, feel that it would be a kindness to have the children sent to an orphanage.
