In the late 630's in Asuka, Soga no Kuratsukuri, who was born the son and heir of the powerful minister Soga no Emishi, is now grown up and regarded as one of the best and brightest to manage the imperial government. He is studying hard at the T'ang Dynasty. This school is reserved for the sons of nobles and influential families such as Prince Karu, Ishikawamaro, Prince Yamasiro no Oe, Prince Furuhito and Nakatomi no Kamatari. They are earnestly studying Chinese thought and political doctrine in the hope of carrying out governmental reforms in Yamato. Among all the others, Kuratsukuri and Kamatari are regarded as excellent and treated with deference. However, Kuratsukuri is the heir of the head family of the Soga clan, whereas Kamatari was born into a family of rather lowly status. The family is in charge of affairs pertaining to the Shinto religion. The two men are naturally quite different in political standing, and Kamatari is secretly jealous of Kuratsukuri.

The play is based off of the 1958 anime Hakujaden, which in turn was inspired by the Chinese folk tale of Madame White Snake.

Mid 1960's. In the sea-port town of Genova in the Northern part of Italy. In the secret club "Primavera", Italy's high-class married ladies, party every night with gigolos. Among them, there is one noticeably charming and sparkling young man called Luca. This man has been chosen as a "companion", by Irene, the wife of a shipping magnate. The club proprietress, Aura, together with Antonio, fear for Luca. In that woman's eye there is a look of foreboding... Luca, unminding, probably naively starts to fall for Irene.

Meiji Era Japan. While en-route to Tokyo to join the Enouza theater, Takagorou disappears in Yokohama. Though his sister and the family and inn servants search everywhere, there is no sign of him. His meeting is the next day, and time is running out, so his twin sister Otaka decides to secretlytake his place and join the kabuki troupe for him, to hold his place until he returns.

This gentleman had great poetic ability, a handsome honor, was valorous, and was generally of an open and natural nature. It's the winter of 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee. A dispute unfolds between the Delivery family and the Antonioni family. The boss of the Delivery family, Dave, is shot and killed, and secretly sunk into a water fountain. At about that time, a Christmas show is being rehearsed at St. Michaels Church. The leader is Frank Fellow, a devout Christian. He is a steady elementary school teacher, but along with his friend Alfat, has always dreamed of standing on a Broadway stage. At that moment, a large earthquake strikes unexpectedly. When he regains consciousness, Frank is riding the train bound for heaven, with only his harmonica in his hand.

Don Juan, a Milanese fashion brand, enjoys great popularity and women all over the world adore it. Granted that its elegant and sophisticated design wins the hearts of women, its success is primarily due to the attractiveness of its designer, Leo Visconti. He is of Italian noble blood and so gifted in art that while young he gained reputation and status. At the same time, he often offends because of his indiscreet way of womanizing.

America, 1971. Richard Collier and his friends are celebrating their successful graduation from college. Although the details are not certain yet, Fred announcs to everyone that the scripts Richard has written have already gotten him noticed by TV producers and he is being offered a job. As Richard's friends congratulate him, an old woman suddenly appears in the crowd.

Since its premiere in Vienna in 1992, the musical "Elisabeth" has been performed all over the world. In Japan, "Elisabeth" was first performed by the Takarazuka Snow troupe in 1996, prior to the first performances in other countries. A total of 10 versions of the musical have been performed by different troupes, making it one of Takarazuka Revue's most popular musicals. The "Elisabeth TAKARAZUKA 25th Anniversary Special Gala Concert" was held in 2021 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Snow troupe's first performance.

Aki was practically born and raised in a mahjong parlor. At the age of 15, she goes to Tokyo during winter and although she is knocked around by the harshness of the big city, she is determined to survive by the one-and-only weapon she possesses: mahjong. However, standing in Aki's way are unscrupulous adults and the realities of city life.
