ROOMMATE tells the story of Phan – a lonesome banker who goes to a strange hotel with the search for special companionship on Christmas eve, but a small mistake leads him to an even more special encounter with another man – Lam – a mysterious dancer with Origami talent. As the journey goes on, Phan explores many mysteries about this dancer, about the hotel and about himself.

Set in a rigid, harsh school environment, a male student still tries to break away from rules and to live his own way. His motivation comes from a mysterious female friend, who always stays in the dark but her rebellious spirit is vigorous. The girl’s way of talking, behaviour and indifference to rules and warnings from the school authority intrigue him. However, a big incident happens, the teenage boy suddenly realizes the truth behind this strange girl.

After an accident, the husband becomes paralyzed. Yet the wife stays in the marriage to take care of him daily. The film is full of beautiful shots which sadden the couple’s distress even more as it evokes a lovely past that was not so further away but will forever stay as memory. Sadness initiates beautiful dream that soon turns to wishful thinking and breaks into despair. The story of The Cat and the Orange Seeds is not a new one yet the way it is done, it is a tragedy beautifully told with pure cinematic beauty and capable of truly touching tour heart.
