Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. His metropolitan experience nicely complements the local expertise of his new country colleagues, who know the folks. Slowly he fits in, while solving countless crimes together with his female partner Eva van Dongen.

The series is based on the Colombian telenovela Betty La Fea and centres around the protagonist, Lotte Pronk, an business economics graduate who passed with honours and has trouble finding a job until she comes across a secretary job in an international fashion company called "Emoda", where at the same time a conflict is occurring in the business between two prospective CEOs. She begins the series mocked by many of her colleagues for being "ugly", and as the series progresses she develops confidence, moves up the ladder and explores romantic interests. The series also features on the fellow Emoda employees, and their relationships and career problems.

Four different families in a medium-sized Dutch city are followed. Their children attend the same high school. The parents all have their own way of raising children. But for all of them it is true that they set the bar very high for themselves and their little ones: life must be perfect above all!

A successful vascular surgeon is suddenly confronted with a blood phobia, making it impossible for him to exercise his job in the hospital. He moves from the capital to the countryside to work as the GP of a village where he only knows his aunt. His predecessor was well liked, so his new community is less than welcoming. In 'Rest and Joy', we follow Emma, a city woman, who after the unexpected loss of her husband Thomas discovers that he, after a years-long waiting list, has been granted a garden at the Rust & Joy community garden complex.
