It’s a new school year and at Rosenholm High School there are many initiation rituals that the new first-year students must go through, which are of great importance for their future life in high school, not least for their personal life. Best friends and freshmen Frida and Selma quickly become friends with another first-year student Nadja. When Frida catches feelings for Nadja’s older boyfriend Emil and is invited to the ritual party for first-year students but Selma is not, their friendship starts to fall apart.

Four siblings—Tristan, Katinka, Kirk, and Petra—are happily settled with Miss Nelly and Brian on Martinsvej, eager for their best Christmas yet. Their joy is shattered when a municipal officer arrives with the children’s grandparents, who demand custody after discovering the mother’s disappearance. Shocked and heartbroken, the kids long to stay with Miss Nelly and Brian, the only family that truly feels like home. Bound by law and threatened with removal, they devise a daring plan to fight back and keep their newfound life together.

When four siblings are left to fend for themselves after their mother disappears, they hire Miss Nelly—a flamboyant, openly gay aspiring actor—as their fake nanny to avoid being split up by social services. What begins as a ruse soon blossoms into a heartfelt connection. Miss Nelly, despite his chaotic life and theatrical flair, becomes an unexpected guardian figure, offering the children emotional stability, humor, and a sense of belonging. As authorities close in and secrets fray at the edges, The Children of Silverstreet evolves into a tender, humorous, and quietly radical story about chosen family, queer caregiving, and the courage to protect what matters most.

The kids and Uncle Anders want to participate in the hotels competition to become “The Sunny Family of The Year” but father says no, underlining that “We’re good enough as we are!” He changes his mind, though, when he meets the competing family, and recognize the father as his old school mate, who’s been bullying him for all of their school years, for being physically inadequate. Consequently father enters the competition with all his might and heart, and what should have been a friendly contest, ends up being a fight for honor and redemption, and it’s only by the loving and innovative intervention from the kids, that father in the ends realizes that the family really doesn’t need to go to any of such extremes. They are actually good enough as they are!
