After being released on parole, a burglar attempts to go straight, get a regular job, and just go by the rules. He soon finds himself back in jail at the hands of a power-hungry parole officer.

After suffering for years at the hands of an abusive husband, Bonnie eventually decides to protect herself by pressing charges against him. With the help of sympathetic police officer Bill Star, she decides to begin rebuilding her life by joining the LAPD.

A convicted rapist continually violates his parole but slips through the cracks of the justice system until his crimes escalate into a frenzy of terror against five helpless women.

During a live punk-rock New Year's Eve TV programme, the presenter gets a phone call from a psycho calling himself "Evil" saying that when New Year's strikes in each US time zone, he will murder someone.
