The Greenhouse is a magic-realist drama that centres on the eldest child of two women, Beth, who discovers a portal into the past on their family property. On the cusp of her widowed mother Ruth's sixtieth birthday and the return of her dysfunctional siblings Drew, Doonie and Raf, Beth is swept away by visions of their idyllic childhood and re-lives the moments that defined her adolescence. Despite Ruth's warnings, and as real-world tensions grow between the siblings, Beth becomes dependant on the greenhouse, soon realising it isn't the paradise she believed it to be.

Through slice-of-life vignettes, a young mother grapples with her own upbringing to navigate parenthood’s shifting demands, and to find moments for herself. Jess Barclay Lawton’s sensitivity for character studies evolves strikingly into this documentary whose slow tenderness testifies to the depth of trust between director and subject.

Circe waits on her island. A lone woman, a woman alone. Circe has been outcast and with centuries ahead of her to spend in isolation, she whiles away the endless hours by walking through the empty perfect rooms of her house, sending messages to the outside world in the form of selfies, and knitting together spells to practise her sorcery. A contemporary feminist, post-pandemic take on a classic Greek myth.
