The end of the XIX century. Petya, an eight-year orphan who has been cast in training German acrobat Karl Becker, who curses and beatings would incorporate the new assistant to the circus profession and ruthlessly exploited child in their speeches. The only consolation, brightens the harsh life gutta-percha boy, as referred to Petya on the posters, is the concern of the carpet clown Edwards, who regretted the fatherless and secretly taught him this circus arts...

The youth construction team celebrated Anatoly and Varya's wedding with fun. Without giving importance to the first quarrel, Varya, however, once admitted to herself that she did not understand Anatoly's aspirations for a cozy furnished life. She tried painfully to understand her husband, who was jealous not only of her work, but also of her friend Kostya. When the spats became more frequent, Varya took little Vasilk with her and traveled to the Urals together with the installers.

The twenties. Hungry and impoverished country. Lenin signs a decree on the protection of breeding livestock. Nevertheless, Ivanov's experiments become known not only to the country of the Soviets, but also to enemies working for American farmers. The Chekists become involved in Ivanov's research.
