Marcelle Arriëns

The young Ivan lives with his eccentric single mother in Rotterdam. When he receives a samurai sword one day, all his hopes and dreams become reality. Reality, however, proves to be more threatening than he could ever have imagined.

In the spring of 1979, a banker is kidnapped in broad daylight. His kidnappers demand a ransom in exchange for his release. But shortly after the ransom is delivered, both the banker and his kidnappers disappear without a trace. There is no resolution to this mysterious case, and the file disappears into the archives. Until it is dug up again in 2017 by a young reporter from KRO's Brandpunt.
