Yuriy Gorkovenko

The film comprises three cinematic novellas: (1) “And They Arrived at the Peasant’s Hut… or the Adventures of Writer Senya in Search of the Hidden Word,” in which writer Senya draws inspiration for his rural novels from his housekeeper Yermolayevna’s tales; (2) “The Song, or How the Great Louarsab Organized a Choir,” where a city visitor attempts to form a choir of centenarian elders in a Georgian mountain village; (3) “What Is Our Life?! or What Is Our Life?!”—during a musical reenactment of pre-Revolutionary France, a drunken actor’s tardiness forces King Louis XIV (also the theater committee chairman) and the cast to improvise the play’s ending.

In an attempt to get away from his work problems at the circus, Makhmut travels to the North Caucasus to visit his relatives. Little does he know that his sister has her own set of problems, albeit in the matters of the heart.

Yura Otvertkin, a romantic from Tsarevo-Kokshaisk, is obsessively in love with aeronautics. In St. Petersburg, disguised, he pretends to be the ace Ivan Piramida. He has to perform at the festival, but he only knows how to fly "according to the books", but he manages not to lose face. After a lot of ups and downs associated with his similarity in makeup with a famous criminal, Yura confesses everything to his beloved and flies already under his real name.

Honest and principled young French horn player of the opera theater, causing his enemies and relatives a lot of trouble and trouble, nevertheless comes "dry" out of difficult situations and, having triumphed in another exposé, achieves mutual love.

A real treat for fans of Willy Tokarev. The best songs he wrote in the 1970s and later in the US. A film in which the main character is Song.
