Yarim (The Half) is the story of two halves setting out to become a whole, of the efforts made by two children to play the existing male-female roles. Fidan is a 15-year-old shepherd girl who lives in poverty with her family in a village in eastern Turkey. Her father gives her as a bride to an unknown family. Zeynep and Yavuz, a couple in love, are forced to part ways as their relationship becomes more serious. This is because Zeynep wants to get married, but Yavuz's fear of marriage is stronger. However, even though their relationship ends, they cannot forget each other. One day, Zeynep goes to a matchmaking agency called "Evlenmeden Olmaz" with her friends for work and meets a matchmaker named Adnan. Adnan finds someone to help Zeynep forget her ex-boyfriend, but the new lover will bring unexpected trouble to both of them. The romantic comedy film, directed by Yasemin Türkmenli, stars Özge Özberk and Cansel Elçin in the lead roles.

Bünyamin corners Menekşe, one of the village's beautiful girls, in the hayloft. While they are still flirting, Menekşe's brother İbo witnesses the situation and stirs up the village. Bünyamin has no choice but to flee, because Menekşe's brothers Saffet and Süleyman are merciless. The place is Afghanistan, in the heat of civil war. Thousands of people who have lost their lives, their possessions, and their homes are waiting for the fighting to end. Yusuf and his friends, however, are going there for humanitarian aid. As Yusuf and his friends prepare to set out, Osama bin Laden is crossing the Afghan border to his new headquarters. Yusuf and his friends meet thousands of people in Afghanistan that year, and one of them is a young man who will become known to the whole world on September 11, 2001.
