After a conflict with his boss, Economics analyst Igor is sent to a journalist business trip. Location is chosen randomly: it is a small Far Eastern Kuril island, Russia. There he meets with a charming and beautiful young woman who is a leader of a mysterious community consisted of 12 people. They do not remember how they have appeared on the island and do not know about Moscow and where Russia is. Enchanted by a woman and the local nature the character got lost more and more deeply into a life of the community. In a time he realizes that the island and its residents have a well-kept secret and that his arrival to the island was not an accident.

The plot of the movie is based on a real criminal case, when several years ago a gang of criminals killed prominent military leaders in order to steal their military awards. The murder of retired General Gridnev was committed, and his apartment was robbed. Major of police Tagantsev goes to the tipsters bandits. But the thief-recidivist nicknamed Valek manages to outplay the detective. Tagantsev's group will have to work hard to catch the recidivist in the city by the sea Yalta...

The civil war is over, and a new life is being established in the land of Khakassia. However, the remnants of the remaining gangs hiding in the taiga and terrifying the frightened locals still make themselves known. Soldier Sigdy Kirzhebekov gets an assignment to infiltrate one of the gangs and "disarm" it from the inside.

Spring of 1942. A train with evacuated children from the Dvinsky orphanage falls under the bombing of the Nazis. After the raid, the children find themselves in the occupied territory in the area of operations of the Belarusian partisan detachment.
