Leonie Minor

Once upon a time, there's been an epidemic on earth: People float away due to fear and petty criminal brothers Rémi and Widu are fighting the whole time while trying to accomplish their biggest mission yet.

How can we live in a world that is heading for disaster—or, better yet, escape it? Between existential questions and formal research, this autofictional essay is full of sincerity, humor, and wisdom.

When Marie’s boyfriend proposes to her in front of his entire family, she doesn't know what to say and flees to the countryside to think it over alone. But her thoughts accompany her. They sit around her in flesh and blood: Her mother pesters her with baby names, exboyfriends climb down trees and a woman in a sari narrates her life in poems. Her would-be fiancé eventually joins her, clashing his own luggage of thoughts with hers. But what if you show your thoughts to each other? How much honesty can a relationship take?

Using excerpts from films made by students of the Berlin film academy within the last 50 years, this movie creates a fusion of intense cinematic expressions and gestures. It shows the spirit of past times, aesthetics and attitude, making film history palpable.

Lola and her family leave Berlin to move to the Uckermarck, a picturesque yet structurally poor region north of the city. While they are looking for the simple, good life in the countryside, the locals are sceptical about the new neighbours. To bridge the gap and overcome stereotypes Lola sets up a project to bring the old garden back to life, growing and breeding their own food. More and more people from the city and the village join in and the project becomes a reflection on how we are living our lives today. How does the modern urban, individual define work and love? And how does this change our relationships?

Leonie is visiting her father, Werner. She is annoyed because she feels that he has changed. He finds her exhausting because she asks stupid questions. Werner has dementia. This remains unspoken between the two of them. When Leonie forgets her wallet at a rest stop, Werner doesn't ask many questions and accompanies her. A journey begins on which they find each other again.

A woman wants to get up. But the chairs she is sitting on won't let her go. The woman's room becomes her universe and the way out of it is, of all things, the armchairs.
