A solitary creator erects his work in the middle of a scrapyard.

Life on an offshore oil drilling rig is becoming a burden for one of the riggers, who feels lonely and is frequently visited by a lone black dog that appears from nowhere.

Some people think they were born in the wrong place. Joy wasn’t — but she just never actually lived there. Born to an American father she never knew and a French mother, Joy has spent her life trapped in a sleepy valley in the Vosges mountains, bored out of her mind. That is, until she stumbles upon the body of a dead cowboy.

Wandering around his house, Grant, a young American musician, looks for inspiration in his memories, foraging through old findings and things from the past, scattered here and there.
