Father and sister died in a landslide. Between reality and fantasy, twelve-year-old Jahaan is searching for a place where the dead exist.

Fatema, an Indian Muslim teenager living in a hilly Italian town, is in a clandestine relationship with her white Italian boyfriend. She spends her summer with her friends, sunbathing by the waters, in honeycomb reverie. When a burqa-clad Muslim teenager moves into town with her immigrant family, Fatema begins to follow the newcomer around, an attraction that catalyzes tentative questioning about her identity.

A return to his childhood home brings Rehan back to memories of his father’s rejection of his gender. An atmospheric, poignant story of coming out as trans in a lower-middle-class Muslim family.
