Isi and Ossi couldn't be any more different: She's a billionaire's daughter from Heidelberg, he's a struggling boxer from the nearby town of Mannheim. But when Isi meets Ossi, the two quickly realize that they can take advantage of one another: She dates the broke boxer to provoke her parents and get them to fund a long-desired chef training in New York. He tries to rip off the rich daughter to finance his first professional boxing match. Their plans soon develop into emotional chaos that challenges everything the two believe to know about money, career and love.

Something’s not right with Fabian. A successful biology student, from a good home and good friend to everyone, there is something – which goes unnoticed by his surroundings – that prevents him from being who is really is. West Berlin, 1967: Shirin’s husband is desperate for her to make a good impression on his new German work colleagues, but protests against the Shah of Iran’s visit to Berlin and a misunderstanding about a missing ring cast suspicion on the Middle Easterners, sending the party spiralling into disaster.

All of a sudden, 16-year-old Martha vanishes. Her father Lothar, who for years has had no contact with her or his ex-wife, sets off unwilling to find her. He soon realises other young people are also vanishing from the city inexplicably. Lothar follows their trail across the country. He meets the occasional young person but the trail goes cold. In the next city he encounters militia groups and a reinforced police presence. Children are forbidden to be on the streets unless accompanied by adults. The world has changed...
