Anna Baumgarten

When Jane fails her final college class, she returns home to her parent's lake house where she comes to terms with the confusing trauma that derailed her senior year.

Disfluency is a short film that follows a young woman through her daily life, from her passive usage of the phrase "I'm sorry," to her being raped and the emotional aftermath. All the while, this habit of apologizing eerily stays with her throughout, begging the question: have we let rape become a cultural disfluency - an expected, almost unnoticeable interruption-in our culture?

Two grocery store employees have an unexpected, helium-fueled encounter with a late-night customer.

Julie has an anxiety attack when she discovers all of her building's laundry machines are broken, and reluctantly accepts help from her neighbor Kris.
