For shapeshifter Carag and his friends Brandon, Holly, and Lou, a new school year begins at Clearwater High. But first, the Woodwalker Council must decide whether Carag's mentor and patron of the school, Andrew Milling, is guilty of attacking humans. Carag is in a dilemma: he wants to put a stop to Milling's actions, but Milling promises to take him to his true puma family if he covers for him before the council.

Georg, a professional improviser, wants the best for his epileptic child—and he finds it in a chic daycare center in Leipzig. He can't admit that he's unemployed and his wife works as a cleaning lady. With a doctored biography and rusty charm, he fakes his way into the hip parenthood scene as a supposed event manager, organizing flea markets, barbecuing, smoking weed, and taking over the cash register. The fact that there is almost half a million euros in it is initially a "gift" that Georg soon uses to treat himself to a lavish lifestyle without anyone noticing – and to become more and more like the hip parents. But as he juggles credit cards, his shady dealings increasingly begin to turn against him.

“Emmett − Tief in meinem Herzen” (“Emmett – Deep in My Heart”) is a film with theatrical elements, telling the story of the 14-year-old Black teenager Emmett Till, who became the victim of a racist murder in Mississippi, USA, in 1955. This murder is considered the spark for the civil rights movement in the USA as well as a global, public-media confrontation with racism. Emmett’s story is not an exclusively Black or American story. Emmett had to die because he (allegedly) whistled after a White woman, while his killers were acquitted by an all-male, all-White jury, only to openly admit to the murder in an interview a short time later. “Cases like Emmett's are repeated in Germany and around the world. They affect us all – they are the stories of each and every one of us. Almost 70 years after Emmett Till’s murder, we live in a world that is still shaped by structural racism.

The high-rise building block near the forest is famous for its carefully curated community. As a dog disappears and her daughter refuses to leave the bathroom, security officer Anna faces an absurd battle against the fear, that slowly spreads among the residents and shakes the utopia with a view.

The film deals with a justice system based on colonial legacy. A post-Mandela plot, partly shot in Berlin, in which many references to German postcolonial history appear.
