The story of the film is about the Gallipoli Campaign during World War I on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey in 1915. The film covers the resurrection of Turkey following its defeat in the Balkan War, through depictions of Sergeant Mehmet Ali (Ali Ersan Duru) from Biga, Corporal Seyit and many others. To help Russia and threaten Constantinople, the Allies try to force through the Dardanelles Straight with a large fleet. Through a series of historical sketches, the film documents how they were defeated despite many difficulties and hardships.

The son of a Muslim emperor, Mahmut rejects his father's values and advocates a humanitarian approach to running the empire he will inherit. For him, there are more important things than power over others - namely the love he cherishes for Meryem, the daughter of a Christian monk. Rejecting the path chosen for him, Mahmut embarks on a dangerous journey looking for his love Meryem. It is this journey through a land in turmoil which will change both Mahmut and Meryem.

Doruk, the only child of a wealthy family, fulfills his dream by entering the police academy and graduating at the top of his class. He falls in love with Serap, whom he meets during an operation, and they get married. Shortly after their daughter Zeynep is born, Serap falls into a depression and leaves home. Doruk, a heroic special operations police officer, takes on both the role of mother and father to his daughter Zeynep while juggling his demanding duties. Just as a beautiful bond forms between father and daughter, Serap, who had left home, returns. A difficult period begins in the lives of father and daughter.
