Alex is fifty-nine years old and yearns for something more than the constant emptiness surrounding her. Everywhere around her people are bound by norms and fixated by their own appearances, so in an attempt to fit in Alex plunges into a journey of change, where she is forced to alter her age, gender, color of skin and looks, searching for the perfect facade. But how much can she change without losing her true self? Where does the limit go for how much the norms of society shall form the individuals? How do you remain true to yourself in a world so cosmetic?

67 year old Ingrid has decided to deal with cancer on her own. She retreats from the outside world and it retreats from her - apart from sporadic visits from the home care services. But then home care employee Frida knocks on her door and awakens feelings that Ingrid can't shut out.

Lisa is 17 and the only one in the class who hasn’t had sex. Sure, she is curious, but it’s not completely easy finding the right person. That she is bound to a wheelchair is not the biggest hurdle. While searching, she is persistently cheered on by her best friend Elsie, who may not always give the best advice.
