Three actors and a director perform Chekhov's The Bear on a New York City bus (actually, a succession of buses, as they keep getting thrown off). The other riders on the final bus get progressively more interested.

While undergoing months of chemotherapy, Annie has served as a live-in nanny for the family of her former boss, Cleo. Annie relies on the family's health and success as a convenient protective blanket against the stark reality of her illness. The eruption of a dark family secret, however, forces Annie to turn within for strength.
