At Villa Ventura lives a wealthy but rather unusual family. Hoping to improve the son Mirko's communication skills, a pair of actors, Simon and Lola, are hired. But their drama class is of no interest whatsoever to Mirko. His interests lie elsewhere.

For years, Floriane has been recording her conversations with the drivers who picked her up as a hitchhiker. She now re-enacts these scenarios with two actors, who perform the exchanges word for word with the help of an earpiece.

An investigative portrait of the master of cinematic melodrama, Douglas Sirk. His life was the ultimate melodrama, from which all his films were inspired. Through the testimonies of those closest to him and the unpublished accounts in his wife's diary, we get closer to this man surrounded by mystery.
