Roz Mortimer

Four intersex people tell their stories with eloquence and candour. Roz Mortimer's film questions how medicine and society have treated intersex people, and breaks the codes of silence and secrecy that have surrounded their lives.

Built from the filmmaker's archive of newspaper clippings, an ironic look at how the press reports the deaths of children. An animate! commission for Channel 4 and the Arts Council of England.

An erotic, witty and disturbing film. An intriguing mix of fact and fiction.

This documentary interweaves fantastical re-imaginings of buried secrets with the Deathless Woman’s ghostly narration and testimony from survivors and witnesses of historic and contemporary crimes against the Roma in Poland and Hungary.

In this beautiful and thought-provoking film, artist and film maker Roz Mortimer leads us on a hypnotic journey to the High Arctic. Using historical texts, medieval maps and contemporary first person accounts, Mortimer explores the traditional relationship Inuit have to the earth and gently challenges our Western relationship to science and knowledge. This poetic and visually stunning film weaves epic scenes of contemporary Inuit life with startling throat singing performances and staged tableaux set within the frozen Arctic landscape.
