Equal to God, Sultan Beybars — the ruler of Egypt, who has the largest fleet in the Mediterranean, crushed the Crusader troops and countless hordes of Genghis Khan's descendant – recalls the life path he passed before ascending to the throne of the ruler.

The plot is based on events that took place during the severe drought of the early 1970s at the construction of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station. The commissioning of the station's first phase was complicated by the fact that the water needed to start it was also desperately needed by the parched fields. There were many debates (with both personal and professional ambitions involved), and in the end, the problem was solved purely mathematically—rather than by agricultural engineering: salty water from the Kyrgyz Sea was diverted to the fields, while clean mountain river water was directed to the first turbines.

In 1568, Saadi prince Abdelmalek is exiled from Morocco by his brothers, an event that is only the beginning of his adventures: fighting the Spanish Inquisition, taking part in the Battle of Lepanto, being incarcerated in Alicante prison, and assist in the Conquest of Tunis. Eventually, he returns to Morocco to fulfill his destiny.

The civil war is over, and a new life is being established in the land of Khakassia. However, the remnants of the remaining gangs hiding in the taiga and terrifying the frightened locals still make themselves known. Soldier Sigdy Kirzhebekov gets an assignment to infiltrate one of the gangs and "disarm" it from the inside.
