The third episode of the Cities of Love franchise, Rio, I Love You is an anthology, created by 10 visionary directors from across the globe. The story line of each segment focuses on an encounter of love in a different neighborhood of the city, demonstrating the distinctive qualities and character of that location. The film serves to bridge gaps between cultures, educating and entertaining the audience, while celebrating unique and universal expressions of love.

The arrival of the Chinese merchants to Saara - the largest commercial center in Rio de Janeiro - before dominated by the Arabs and Jews. The film revolves around Francis, a saleswomen for the Casa São Jorge, a knickknack store that belongs to the Arab, Mr. Nazir. She does everything to help her boss not to loose his clients to the competition, Casa do Dragão, that belongs to the Chinese Chao. With her coworker Andressa and her rascal boyfriend Carlos Eduardo, Francis tries to find out why the Chinese merchandise is so much cheaper then Mr. Nazir's

The story of two couples who are neighbors and the marital problems caused by the unexpected arrival of two important personages of their past. The first couple, Carlos and Ana, live on the seventh floor of a building. Ana feels she's entitled to more love than her husband is willing to give. Suddenly, an old friend, Tomás, reappears after many years away and stays at their house. Andréa and Miguel live in the building across the street and are also going through a marriage crisis. In a party, they meet Cláudia, Miguel's first girlfriend, and she has no place to stay. Naturally, she's invited to sleep at their place. The presence of the two newcomers will cause many changes in their relationships.

Cadu, an honest lawyer from the countryside of São Paulo, is about to become a father for the second time. However, his life is completely transformed when he falls into a trap and the police find a ton of marijuana in his house. Outraged by the injustice, he begins to act like the head of a drug cartel, exactly what they accused him of, in front of the criminals and murderers in the prison.
