Two young girls collect items for a raffle they say is in support of chronically ill children. Things don't go as planned when an elderly woman gets interested in their work.

Nine-year-old Anna has moved to a new town. Anna's mother sends her out to make some friends, but the children in the playground are unwelcoming. Apart from one boy, Búi. He encourages Anna to do a heroic deed, to show the other children what she's made of.

The 11 year old Breki is at constant odds with his older sister Bergdís, but all he wants is her validation. One day when she is out, Breki sneaks into her closet and makeup, leaving the room a mess. When the family returns to the scene, a series of events unfold leading to a long overdue confrontation between the siblings.

On Christmas Eve, an Icelandic family comes face to face with the Yule Cat, a ravenous creature of folklore hungry for those who didn't get clothes for Christmas.
