Malhação is a Brazilian television series for the teenage audience. The soap started in 1995, and was set in a fictional Gym Club called Malhação on Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Through the years the location varied slightly. Although the name of the soap remains the same, it is now set in the Múltipla Escolha High School.

Inspired on Jorge Amado's romance "Tieta do Agreste", the plot is set on the fictional city of Santana do Agreste, at Brazil's northwest, and has as main theme Tieta's life turnarounds. Twenty-five years after being chased out of town by her father Zé Esteves, she returns to her home town seeking revenge against everyone who mistreated her and laugh at her face in the past.

The plot revolves around the youthful romance and subsequent reunion years later between Ramiro, the leader of a fishing village in Fortaleza, and the businesswoman Letícia.

The determined Genuína dreams of the return of Diego, the father of her children Rodrigo and Mercedes, who reject their mother's origins. Diego reappears with a different identity and changes Genu's destiny.

After an unjust imprisonment, friends return to the town of Remanso, facing betrayals and lost loves, while battling a corrupt lawyer.

Brava Gente was a television series aired by TV Globo in Brazil between 2000 and 2003, initially as a special year-end. The program was adapted from stories and national stories, and plays by famous playwrights, screenwriters and signed by a number represented by several actors and actresses. Alê Félix, a blogger, wrote a text for her blog, called “Sobre o Menino do Rio”. That was in 2006. The text is beautiful and very sensitive. Some time later, filmmaker Felipe Joffily, among links and texts he read to research the song Menino do Rio, read Alê's text and was enchanted.
